Hi
Bit of a long shot I know, but i'm trying to trace a bike my Grandad owned. My dad has now done his bike test (as of yet he doesn't know I've posted this).
I have a photo and think the plate says 'MN0320'.
On the back of the photo it says 'Faithless Matchless 500 G80'. It mentions 'Hitchin 1950' I'm not sure if this was the year of the bike or the year the photo was taken in Hitchin.
If anyone has any information about this bike good or bad I would love to hear from you.
Thanks in advance
Alice

MNO is an Essex reg. no. issued between July to September 1947. I would say the bike is 1947 G80 something like this.

Not exactly help in finding the bike but I have a M16 (350) project that is just over 130 registrations earlier based on the number, it was first registered on the 12th September 1947 so that should give you a better feel for the likely registration date.
