I think very few old bikes show the correct mileage what with replacing/repairing speedos, broken drive cables etc.
In the days of MOT's it amused the tester that mine appeared have been ridden backwards some years.

Thanks for all your comments but having spent 25 plus years in the motor trade he is not going to get away with it especially the illegal bit

IMHO if you buy a bike from a member it should be described as close to accurate as possible, its the one place I always visit first when looking for another bike.
Same reason I purchase my parts from Jampot spares.
