gearchange ratchet

Post by red_dog49 »

hi, have continually had gearchange problems, so got the gearbox outer case off and find I have part number 041284 fitted, according
to my info it should be 041283(gearchange ratchet), cannot find any reference to 041284 anywhere. there are none I can find anywhere.
can anyone confirm or deny this part, does it look right ?
regards
Rob.

Looks right, sometimes there is a casting number on the item which is one digit different to the actual part number. What is happening with the gear changing?

hi, the gear selector travel gets longer until you can only select 1st and 2nd, just a thought, looking at it which way should the boss face ?.

Your part looks correct. Here are a couple of photos of my spare one:

Is the big return spring OK (041328)? They can crack and go weak. Here's a cracked one:

hi, so I rebuilt the gearbox outer section and the gear change is a lot better and can get all gears ,if or when it happens again will have to try and renew some
of the relative parts if I can find them.
