Just had a shower so stopped for the night but will be out there tomorrow so will do it then.

Mick as best as I can drive side measures .739" and the timing side .763"

Another step closer to sorting out the basics - my replacement spacers are 0.770" drive side and 0.807" timing side.
When forced to fit the footrest bar nuts could not thread on fully.
With the centre stand stud, bushes and spacer snugged up and the front engine plates and spacers installed there was no way the footrest bar spacers would fit.
Your response points to the spacers being at fault so I'll jig up the components and adjust the spacers accordingly.
For what its worth, the spacer for the rear loop bottom stud is looking more and more like it would suit being fitted between the down tube lug and bottom rail on the LH side - I'll post some photos when it's all jigged up.
