Ammeter O ring
Hi, does anyone know if the rubber O ring that sits under the ammeter is available from the club spares? I couldn't see it.
Thanks,
Malc

Re: Ammeter O ring
You could use a carb “O†ring for this application.

Not aware there was an o ring under the original Lucas ammeters, Some aftermarket ones have them fitted though.

They're listed in the Lucas documentation as part of the ammeter installation.

I have never seem one fitted on any of my AMC bikes there would be no room under chrome ring to bend the tags back.Mick D wrote:Hiajscomboman wrote:Not aware there was an o ring under the original Lucas ammeters, Some aftermarket ones have them fitted though.

523986 is the part number but dammed if I can find any listing of one in the master spares manuals.Mick D wrote:Hiajscomboman wrote:Not aware there was an o ring under the original Lucas ammeters, Some aftermarket ones have them fitted though.

Re: Ammeter O ring
My original ammeter, which appears to have died, has an 'O' ring with a very small cross section. It's very brittle and broke up when trying to remove it, which makes me suspect it's probably original.G15 Roy wrote:I have never seem one fitted on any of my AMC bikes there would be no room under chrome ring to bend the tags back.Mick D wrote:Hiajscomboman wrote:Not aware there was an o ring under the original Lucas ammeters, Some aftermarket ones have them fitted though.

Re: Ammeter O ring
I know it's in the Lucas cat but what I'm trying to say is that it was never listed as an individual part by the factory and therefore couldn't be ordered separately. Now if there is enough demand we could look to stock but more than likely it's better to use clear silicone as that won't rot or go brittle.g80csp11 wrote:An O ring is shown on the last page of the Lucas catalogue
