Which gearbox do I have??

Post by oasist1980_LAPSED »

I have a 57 and wondering which gearbox I've actually got? I've heard they changed over in 57 so unsure. I have stamped at the top on the box M31780.

Many thanks

That's the AMC gearbox. Correct for '57 when it was first introduced.

You don't, that was dropped 2yrs or so ago as it was costing the spares dept money.

But the other half of the story is, I believe, spares are no longer supplied to the general public at all which is one of the incentives for joining the club if you want to buy spares ....
