1964 AJS Model 18 - AJG 45B

Hello all. Of all the bikes my late father owned, his Model 18 thumper is the machine that made the biggest impression on me. There was nothing special about it, really; just your average utilitarian mid range bike. The reason it has such a special place in my heart is that it was this bike that Dad used to take me on the annual Pioneer Run and so was my first real pillion experience as a kid.

Now he's gone, getting hold of the old girl has become more important. DVLA records show that it still exists, or at least that the registration is still associated with the bike. If I can find it, I'd like to own it myself, get it running and maybe take my granddaughter on the Run, returning to the tradition.

I'm not holding my breath, of course.
