1930 v twin engine part name?

Hi all, on a (but not exclusive to) AJS R2 100cc, what is the dalek looking cap thing next to the spark plug called?

I assume its the exhaust valve cap, the sparkplug sits in the inlet one, I believe it can either be a hollow hex plug like the inlet or a tapered fin type to disperse heat.
