1960 plastic top fork bush

Post by Tazmantic »

Hi anyone got the measurements of said bush please, I have one but I’m not sure it’s the right size. Also how wide should the oil seal be.

Thanks

There are two sizes of bush, one for the 1 1/8 and one for the 1 1/4 but it looks like that bush has been rubbed with fine paper. I have not taken them apart for a while but I used to apply heat and violence whilst the slider was trapped in a workbench. Our section now has one of the Andrews engineering tools but as yet I have not had to use it. If I have had to heat the stanchion to get them out it suggests you may need to do so to get them in. Sorry I do not have one to measure.

As I understand it...
The 1 1/4" forks were introduced 1955 and had some one year only parts including the bushes and oil seals.
Bushes and oil seals generally listed are 1956 onwards.
