Model 30, '56 - engine studs
Folks,
just buy a model 30, '56 in a box from an abandoned restoring project.
First of all I am repositioning the engine in the frame, but I am in trouble to recognize the studs needed in front both mounting brakets plates and the stud used for the frame.
Anyone can drive me to the correct ones?
/Giovanni

Re: Model 30, '56 - engine studs
Dave,
I found the complete list of the studs/bolts needed on page 15 of the spare list.
But I have some doubts to mapping the rights studs in the right place.
It seems are not all the same size between 5/16 and 3/8.
I don't know if you can help me to assign the right order.
I prepare a picture (taken from Internet) adding letter references (A to D) to help me to positioning/mapping...

Hi Giovanni,
yes it is a bit confusing! The parts list is wrong stating that the exhaust pipes are fitted on 000303, they actually fit on 021086. OK from the top stud A is 5" x 3/8" x 26, studs B & C are 4 9/16" x 5/16" x 26, stud D is 6" x 3/8" x 26. So the exhaust pipe extensions fit on stud D as in your picture. 26 means 26 threads per inch which is Cycle thread (BSCY). Hope that helps!
Dave.

Dave,
wow, thank you!
great support and decoding of the spare parts list.
Is the bible but with some errors!
Can you help me to find the correct part number to the Bolt that fix the Dynamo to crankcase? /Giovanni

Hi Joker,
yes. I was not sure on the length 2 1/2 in.
are quite 50mm and it seems more long in reality, anyway I will check it better.
Can you translate/explain to me the meaning of "by 2 B.A." ?
