Having said all that,although it pains me to say it ,are Lightweights worth spending the money on
Hard work never killed anyone.....but why take the risk?

Well, we are going to resurrect this one, I have already found a new con rod assembly which looks as if it is genuine AMC, we need a good useable +30 hepolite piston if poss to save the cost of a rebore.
I will carry out an in depth post-mortem shortly. I fear I will need a lot more.
Any Matchless is better than no Matchless,and I`m confident I`ll make a decent little bike out of this one; at any rate if I made a botch of it it`d still be better than before.
I have always maintained that a rough looking and well worn bike that runs like a clock, is 100% preferable to paint and chrome. Sadly people buy paint.
And you can`t ride paintwork on its own.
