Greetings,
I have a 1956 G80CS alloy barrel (AMC, not Alfin) with a scored liner (wrist pin!).
I have been told the liner is 'cast in' and so will not press out.
Can anybody tell me what OD the liner is - i.e. can I machine the old one out, or will I just end up with a pile of big alloy washers ?
Maybe there is a trick like fitting thin wall liners in the old one but I would worry about that.
Any new liner would need a lip to stop it visiting the crankcases, but there does not look like a lot of clearance to the stud holes.
Cheers,
Rob

The barrel is cast in. Send the barrel to a specialist who understands AMC & will install one keeping the lip at the top.
I have had engines brought to me to sort out with resleeved barrels without the lip, & also not flat, a must for these engines.
Cheers, Don.
Here in the US, I send barrels to specialist resleeving companies whose only business is resleeving & I get the job done right.
