speedo refurb

Post by trophy »

I want to get inside my speedo to sort it out but the bezel doesn't want to come off. I've soaked it in release oil for days on end but it still will not unscrew. Any ideas anyone?

Thank you Itma. Seems simple so why did I not think of that Don't answer that question, I'm embarrased enough as it is.

When I fixed speedos I used to put them in the freezer for a night, then securely mount them on a bracket and turm off the bezel with a leather glove. Works 98% of the time. I presume the brass bezel contracts less than steel case. If that doesn't work the wooden tool looks good. I may make myself one.
