Wobbly Decompressor !

Post by Raet »

Hi
After using the decompression lever a few times , I have noticed that the decompressor wobbles at its point of entry into the cylinder head when the bike is running.
If I push it in at the rocker box, it seems to click back into place and stops wobbling .
there is an O ring on the shaft, which I fitted when I discovered that if you unhooked the spring on the decomperssor it comes straight out .
any ideas on what should be on the decomperssor to hold it/ seal it in to the rocker box?

Thanks
Rae

Usually the design of the spring creates a natural inward thrust to keep the lever in place. I have never had a problem in the past with either the rocker box mounted one or the earlier crankcase version. I can only suggest you dont have enough freeplay (cablewise) keeping the lifter cam on slightly, which i would quickly attend to! Douglas
