AMC Gearbox letters/numbers

Hi folks,
I recently got a 18CS. Now I am trying to get a bit familiar with the parts I have and the ones which are missing.
I am just trying to find out what is the right gearbox number/character
for the bike, and which ones are might fit as well.
I know that the pre characters MA is for AJS/Matchless and N for Norton, but I have seen a couple of different characters behind the number.
CS, G, T, R, C.
Someone has already written that C is for trial.
Is there a list available with the letteres in relation to the
gear rations ?

i have been told that R = CSR ( the box was no different from the standard apart from a different sized sprocket). they just marked at the factory so they knew. cheers andy
