Biscuit is right the taper rollers we need are hard to obtain. However i have seen a kit that enables other manufactures taper roller bearings to be used,we have been sent a sample to test in the workshop at JSL. It is a simple and beautifully made piece of kit.Watch this space as they say

Hi Rick. Any further news on the alternative taper roller bearings? The rollers and outer shells of my 1957 G9 front wheel are well shot - and yet the spindle is fine. Wierd or what! To my thinking it seems an expensive and a poor engineering method of keeping the wheel turning. Regards, Lol.

The new bearings that the club stock are only for full width rear wheels . the only solutions for the front are either new front bearing set ( very expensive ) or the Andrews engineering on piece assembly

But if you need a replacement for the rear , then the new modified bearing means that you can just replace what is worn out with new seals again from the club
