I have been looking high and low for the plastic tank badges for my G3 LS so i bought a pair from British only Austria. They arrived today but are the maroon colour and not the lighter red ones.Has anyone removed the paint (it seems to come off easily) and painted with the lighter red colour,if so any ideas of the paint colour and outlet to buy it.
The badges are slightly bigger but do line up with the holes on the tank.

im pretty sure that the badges you need should look like this.

ive used halfords ford burgundy red on this badge and its very close to the original colour. (it looks a bit light in the photo)
to change the background colour, ive got rid of the old colour with tcut and then resprayed.
at a guess, the badges you have are slightly different style and have a thicker chrome circle round the M.
what ever you do, dont tcut the chrome back to clear! ive been doing a fair amount of testing to try and replicate the chrome finish and im having no sucess. any ideas would be greatfully recieved!
