I am interested to know if we can post a queries about other British classic bikes also other that Ajs and Matchless bikes.

If i can, kindly post my following query about Sunbeam S8 motor cycle.

I have recently purchased a 1953 model Sunbeam S8. I had a similar bike long back. The sound of the present one is different from that of the earlier one. The present one also is not having any bearing and tappet noise etc. I am suspecting the valve timing.

I want to check the valve timing with a degree disc. I have the timing figures. Can you tell me what tappet clearance should be set initially for proceeding with the test.
