AJS Model 8 seat

Post by jajo57 »

May I take this opportunity of saying a big thank you to everyone who responed to my initial request for information on the seat. Both Goldstar and Stuoyb stepped up and offered me a seat as a pattern and I'm most grateful to them for that.

However, I've been advised by another member to "hold my fire" as there may be some interesting news breaking soon on the whole subject of L/W seats. Now, before you all ask "who was that?", I'll just say that it is probably better if I leave it to them to explain as they will have a far better understanding and more detailed information than me.

A seat has been sourced and in the next few days it should, with any luck, be on its way to Leightons for pricing etc. Providing we can strike a reasonable deal the seats will then be available from JSL. In the meantime can anyone that requires a seat contact me at adverts@jampot.com

Right then Gent's, a brief update. The seat is on its way to Leightons. Andrew Leighton is interested in helping us out but it will all come down to pricing. I'll post more when I know.

The seat pans are already being cut as we speak. There will be the option of either purchasing a base only or a completely upholstered seat. With any luck they'll be available in the next few weeks.

I thought Leightons had the patterns for most seats, check out their website at rk-leighton.co.uk
