G2 pushrods

Post by mn757 »

Hi,

Just putting my G2 back together after a lengthy layup following a snapped conrod. I'm assuming the pushrods are hollow and allow oil to flow either up or down them? I notice the hole at the top end, but the bottom end appears to be solid. Is this correct, or have mine been worn to the extent that the hole has been ground over ?

many thanks

martin.

The hole is simply to retain a little to keep it "oily"

Hi Martin ..........I don't think the oil flows through the push rod either up or down, the rod is probably hollow but the end fittings are hardened steel, the hole you can see at the top is a relief hole for the ball end cutter when being machined. the oil flows onto the rocker arm over the tappet and runs down, if I'm wrong others will soon put you right, hope this helps

No oil feed inside the pushrods, splash oiling only.
