G2 engine parts

Post by uncle rod »

Howdy all, Just removed head and barrel to discover wayward circlips and their grooves in the cyl wall. So I need to either bore and sleeve and new piston, rings, etc. Or s/h barrel and piston, or dare I say, (new) barrel and piston etc. 1958 G2. Damage too bad to bore oversize. Any advice on where to start looking? I am going to the Bristol Bike Show sunday, I was just going for some nuts and bolts but now!!
Regards Rod.

Whatever you find, make sure the circlips & grooves in the piston match. AMC used different type the wire ones used by most & cannot be swapped. Cheers, Don.
