Hi please help all you G12 owners, having trouble with the charging system on my g12, sent the dynamo off came back fully recon, on removing the headlight the wiring has more wires than spagetti junction has roads, some kind person has fitted a seperate ignition switch, on looking at the switch the terminals run from 1 - 7 but four of the terminals are missing, can you please inform me if the orignal switch controlled the ignition and the lightening, also was the ignition controlled by a key also are these still avaliable, many thanks

Usually dynamo equipped bikes didn't have an ignition awitch because they were fitted with a maggy. Mayde they added the switch for the maggy cutout wire.

Magneto models should have an earth (kill) button either on the handlebar on or the mag cover. As wilco suggests, someone has probably wired the mag earth lead to your headlamp switch. If that's the case you could trace it to the appropriate terminal with a multimeter. If the switch is the type with a key they are available from JSL but it's no more than a tapered flat bit of metal. A screwdriver end will do!
