Fenders / Mudguard 18cs
Would anyone know if the alloy mudguards (fenders) on a 1956 18CS is ribbed down the centre or not ? The wreck I am rebuilding has only one rear guard that's been shortened over the years and it has a central rib running through it, if they were ribbed on a 56 any ideas where I can buy a pair from thanks.

They were not ribbed. The 1956 type was "C" cross section & sheet steel reinforcements at attachment points as well as the rear seat bolt area & no lip at end. Originals are "Rocking Horse Sh.." but usable replicas can be made with universal blade & thin sheet steel. The steel reinforcements span from rolled edge to edge & attached with small rivits. Ask Ken how many rivits. Cheers, Don.

I don't know why they didn't, but they were a common accessory in the past. I have a ribbed aftermarket one in my shed.
