kickstart spring replacement. CP Box.

Post by matchbox500 »

Just had the kickstarter drop today, after starting the bike. I only replaced this about 7 months ago. I remember struggling to align the gear selector last time as it fell out when I removed the outer case.
If I remember you align the two 0 marks when it is put back.
Should I take the kickstart off the spline before removing the outer case, or leave it on to ensure that the shaft comes out with the case.

Help appreciated.

Normally you would leave the kickstart on and keep a good hold of it when removing the outer cover - it will unwind vigorously once the quadrant clears the stop. If your spring is broken/detached, this won't be a problem so you can please yourself when you remove the kickstart lever!
