This is a single, it had stamping inside each case.

Thank you. I believe the cases were used together in the past and, at this stage, I cannot verify they are a matched set. Still, how can I determine whether the crankshaft is free enough to continue?

were conrods free to turn and center web before you assembled it in to crankcase

Con rods are good. It got stiff when I tightened down the web and worse when I applied the timing side case. I’m pretty sure the drive side case was warped from welding and I will have to discard it. Please see my inquiry about my spare case. Thanks for your interest.
