electrickidy query

Try changing the switch - maybe you've got a cheapo pattern parp.
I seem to recall that every time my disconnected gran got out of her chair she used to go 'Parp' - a very effective 'audible warning of approach'.

Now there's a possibility. This is the seaon of goodwill and the production of large volumes of unwanted bodily emissions. Under certain conditions or if you try hard it is possible to impersonate a motor horn. This would also explain why you have to wait before it will happen again. I find plenty of Brussell Sprouts with the turkey and a box of dates can produce quite alarming results but beware of 'following through'

Any electrical guru, in attempting to answer a question of this nature, would wish to study the wiring diagram, for that he would need to know the Model and year, so if you seriously want an answer, let's have the information. I won't know the answer, Ludwig will.

Try disconecting each other component in turn until you reach the culprit.

When I were a lad I had a Honda C95 (150 cc) and the horn never worked despite all efforts. Only way I could get it through the MOT was to fit a triple-trumpet manually-operated horn with a huge rubber bellows bulb on the end (looked like a rather rude surgical appliance)as seen on ancient cars. To my utter astonishment it passed the MOT as they said it was an 'audible warning of approach'! Audible warning? It sounded like a Deltic going through Crewe station at maximum knots. Mad or what? Eeee, them were t'days...

My G80CS/Gold Star hybrid had a completely unbaffled reverse cone megaphone stuck on the end of the exhaust pipe. Nobody ever complained they couldn't hear it coming.
