David.....I imagine the square profile would hold up to a certain angle of lean, but perhaps suddenly "let go" after that. Also inflation pressure may be significant.Edited by - fump on 20 Aug 2012 09:02:29 AM

Old tyres
The "New" Avon SM (Skidmasters) are made from modern softer rubber compound and are a great improvement over the original harder non- sticky type rubber.
Whilst not as good as a modern design such as Roadriders they are OK. If you are not riding too hard and out in all weathers on your old AMC they'll be fine.. I would suggest if its a commuter bike then Roadriders would be a better option.. Hard old tyres are not a good idea!
