Hi
Can someone please tell me if this is a Left hand thread? Need to remove it to get the back of the chaincase off?
Thanks

yes you need to get the drive sprocket off to remove the chaincase on both the tin type and I think also on the aluminimum (you don't mention year of your bike.) The only left hand thread is the one holding the small timing pinion on the other end of the crank.

No, it's a right hand thread. The crank turns anti-clockwise looking at it from the end so the bolt turns against the rotation to tighten.

I think it is the same size as the nut for the rear wheel spindle
