Which carb number ?

G'day John, the float number you have (14-015) is common across all the 1 series side bowls found on pre monoblok carburettors. The bowl number is stamped next to and after the body number on the mount flange (as already stated) and, if you have the original carburettor, would have been 89M/1AK. (1AK being the bowl number)
If your float is still OK, a new clip can be bent up using a suitable thickness piece of brass shim, or even a piece of tin cut from a food can!

Then again, maybe better buying a new float from Hitchcocks!

Paul.

My file gives float chamber numbers John, to be sure you could check with Amal parts lists if your carb body is like the correct number carb also the float chamber. Even if you found the carb number, thats not proof it has the correct float chamber attached to it. So it may be good if when you order to give a pic of what float you want.

My Amal parts book lists 22 diferent type1 (bottom feed) bowl numbers to suit pre monoblok carburettors, they ALL list the same float, float needle, bowl top, tickler assembly ETC.
