Oil return?
As the dear wife bought a G9, what could I do?
Still had the old Harley, but I needed another machine to fill that niche. Well, Muppit bought an AJS Bitsa with a 18C engine.
One born every minute.
So onto the question: The oil return is shall we say, a rather desultary pulsing dribble, I was expecting something more on the lines of the G9 return even allowing for the different operation.
I have trawled the forum but I am unable to ascertain the "strength" of what a normal return pulse should look like.
I will leave the rest of the ailments till later - all help gratefully accepted.
Mike.

Oil return?
Hi Mike
When I bought my G3 I thought the same about the oil return however, no amount of words are going to be able to acertain what is right and what is wrong in this case. May I suggest you contact your local section and get someone 'in the know' to have a look at your desultary pulsing dribble

Oil return?
I've just bought a G80C bitza (wonder who's making them?) and my oil return isn't much. Once I've sorted the clutch I'll get a local expert to look it over and report back

Oil return?
Hi Richard,
Funnily enough the clutch on this one was shot - now replaced.
And for Bigwol's delight - or not -- :

Not a great pic, but enough for use as an emetic.

Oil return?
The oil return will be just a dribble as the plunger strokes once per 8 revolutions, (16 for the single start plunger), & can take a long time before a drained engine shows return. The ball & roller race bearing require very little lubrication, unlike the twin plain bearing big ends on the twins. If a single returns oil at all, it probably is fine. Cheers, Don.

Thanks for that Don, I am a little happier now!
I have just ordered another carb, the old one has more play than Shakespeare and it is a right little B****r to start and runs very hot.
I think it will be fun though.
