Hi Janet,
I used the Brass round lever type on my Lightweight but they leaked terribly. So after a few years I fitted the Chrome push/pull type No more problems.
Love reading of your adventures in the Jampot.

Fourteen years after acquiring the UK distribution rights for Royal Enfield, Cotswold-based Watsonian Squire has announced that they are ceasing distribution of the Indian-made motorcycles.
The firm, which celebrated its centenary last year, wants to concentrate on the production of sidecar and luggage trailers, as well as a newly-acquired distribution deal for Kuberg electric trials bikes.
There has been no comment yet on a new UK distribution deal for Enfield.

Thank you. I started about ten years ago writing about my exploits, mainly on my LE Velo, in an attrempt to encourage other people to get out and ride their old bikes more by showing that they can actually go places. I have discovered that some people are not enamoured of the little lightweights but, in time, I hope to educate them.
Makes me feel ashamed as my LE is still dorment awaiting work .
I the 50s i rode a LE and a Valliant .The memories will no doubt come flooding back as soon as my LE burst into song .
RIDE with CARE and LIVE LONG to ENJOY your Bike,s and Scooter,s.

Well I like mine, it's a great bike. I am newish here relatively speaking and despite passing my test in 1971 then going on to a car in 1972 have only in the last year or so "come back" to a bike after nearly 40 years abstinence. I wanted an old bike (any old bike) and bought my model 8 as something I could afford, that was in reasonable nick and looked ok. That is all I knew about this bike but I really can't see why it is poo pooed as such by members as if is isn't a "proper" AJS etc. I think they are underestimated and I am glad I bought it and own it now..
