Not knowing which gearbox is fitted to my '55 Model 18, I have posted an image just in case some kind soul can help.

If the new kickstart is applicable to my machine, can I ask Janet to put one aside for me.

Unfortunately I am currently on the other end of a very, very long supply chain and not back to the UK until September (and no outgoing email traffic)

You have a Burman B52 gearbox. Standard kickstart (G-43-2) is fixed and currently in stock at the club parts service.
Folding kickstarts for Burman are as rare as 'hens teeth'. If you do a forum search you will find some threads on this subject - there are specialist ones available for comp. bikes - at a price!

Pick up any sort of folding kickstart from a bike jumble and cut through the shaft at an appropriate point. Then cut your Burman kickstart shaft at appropriate point and weld the two together.
You could have it chromed if you wish if appearance bothers you.
Then say goodbye to bruised shins and calfs

If you get a folding kick start lever, you have to remember not to forget. Which many of our ageing members have a problem with. You must remember to unfold it to start the bike. Look to make sure is still unfolded if the bike needs a seconded kick. Make sure its fully extended each time and always a good downward kick. So it dose not fold in half way through your kick, and leave you kicking air. This can happen quite easy if your folding lever or boots are slippery or wet. Finally, don't forget to check vibration on a run has not unfolded it, so you catch your leg/shin. Had a bike with a folding lever years ago, that never seemed to stay in position when kicked.
