Unlikely I think, but does anybody know of LUF 396, a 1951 G9 'Clubmans'. I bought this bike out of my first week's wages, having walked past its rusting remains for several years on the way to school. It was amazingly powerful (28bhp!) after my 147cc Excelsior, and the sensation was enhanced by the gearing which had been lowered for sidecar work. The copper who rode it back to the nick after I broke my leg described it as a 'hot-rod' (well it did have 'ace' bars and alloy mudguards!).
