Carb rebuild kit

I'm aware that this has probably been asked a dozen times already.

I'd like to rebuild the carb on my '58 G9. No rhyme or reason, I just don't know when it was last taken care of & I want something to tinker with on the dining room table.

I've found different answers from conflicting manuals though.

http://amalcarb.co.uk/376-series-monobl ... r-kit.html

Main Jet Option:
Size 220 (376/100-220)

Needle Jet Option:
Size 106 (376/072-106)

Pilot Jet Option:
30cc (376/076-30)

Are those correct?

Thank you.

The kit referred to is a basic kit with parts that differ on models. So you have to select your parts that differ. You should be able to do this by referring to the Amal settings list for the year & model of your bike, which you should find in the file below.. Is this where you got your jets & needle sizes from? If so they should be correct. Note some models will give details for Air filter fitted & without air filter fitted. So cannot really check as you do not state if you have, or have not, fitted an air filter.

I am sure you will find the options are not for your particular year and model bike. Only one size will be correct.

Cheers Rob. The details in that link you sent marry up with what I thought were correct. I'll order it tonight.

I have spotted errors in Amal lists, but only those oblivious to me, those being AMC model errors. Hope they got all their own details correct.

It all looks okay to me. Very excited to get it stripped off & rebuilt.. I hopefully won't find any nasties.
