I'm in the midst of rebuilding my carb & like all jobs, they've led to more.
I drained the fuel tank at the weekend so I could strip, clean rebuild my fuel taps. The RH side was leaky & the LH (reserve) was blocked.
Both taps were missing the narrow gauze filters (https://www.feked.com/1-8-x-7-16-round- ... ilter.html), she seems to have been happy without them & I've now fitted an in-line filter between the tank & the carb. Does that sound okay?

Hi
The in line filter will compensate for the lack of screens on the taps, however you risk debris from the tank damaging the fuel taps - I'd run with what you have until the taps need replacement.
You could solder on replacement screens but I've yet to find anyone supplying the material short of cannibalising another tap.
