Re: Starting Issue
Hi
It's difficult to see from the photo, but do you have the filter fitted inside the banjo?
I would use hose clips at the banjo and fuel tank for security.
You did fit the carb nuts when you tried to start it didn't you?
Bolt the carb on and put 5 drops of fuel near the needle jet and see if it fires.
Regards Mick

Re: Starting Issue
Hi Mic,
Carb was bolted on securely but had removed one nut in picture will tight up all fuel pipes with hoses clips and put 5 drops next to needle.
Thanks
Darren

Re: Starting Issue
Being well experienced with non-starting bikes, I have been known to squirt some inflammable squirty stuff through the bellmouth during my starting attempts. A dispensible assistant is preferable for the squirty end of the business in case it backfires and sets them ablaze. That positive result at least lets me know there's some life in the engine.

Re: Starting Issue
?? thought the plug was already sparking ok, mentioned in one of your earlier comments so why would you need to soak it in meths??56G80S wrote:Or soak the plug in meths, whip it in and BANG.

Re: Starting Issue
In my long lost youth as an Army Ammunition Technician we were taught about, among many other things, explosive starter cartridges - pop one in (can't remember what engine but obviously a multi cylinder) instead of spark plug, fire up and BANG - one piston got a boost which got the crankshaft spinning and engine firing, then remove and replace with ordinary plug. Sounds like you need one of those! Andy

Re: Starting Issue
Ozmadman - it was a joke, he can't get it started. Hence the imogee. Partly a response to Janet's comment about using Easistart ( which I guess is the Bradex product she's referring to) as it'd be cheaper.
