Hi, please can any one tell what the thread form is on part no. 021741 fork stem adjusting nut? I believe it to be 1" diameter, but what is the number of TPI? Thanks, LynP

Hi, thank you very much Colin, both for the information and the offer for the use of a tap. The problem I have is that my new stainless adjusting nut does not screw on more than about one or two threads while the lock nut goes all the way down. I did not get chance today but Tomorrow I will see if I can see why. If I have no success I am only up the valley from Swansea and may take you up on your kind offer if your die is a HSS one. Best regards, Lyn

You are quite welcome to borrow the tap which is HSS and very old.

Hi problem solved, in a good light I found some small bits of metal stuck tightly in the thread which I removed and all now OK. Thanks again Colin for your offer of help. It is surprising how such small bits in a thread can make so much difference. I now know the thread form, so something else useful I have learned about our bikes. LynP
