1957 16MS oil level ..

I apologise for taking up so much of the forum and your time ..

There is a gold line about half an inch below the filler cap of the oil tank, and the oil is up to this level (cold), but this is above the outlet from the return pipe and rather than seeing the spurts of oil when it is running, you see oil flowing on the surface ..

I suspect that whoever put the line on the tank in the past has put it in the wrong place ..

What should the level be relative to the filler cap, please

Hi

These were applied in the same positions as the originals which were still in place before the restoration:

Thank you M.D.

I've just got a single line (no words) but it is definitely higher than yours .. Must look for a syringe and remove some . .. There seems to be plenty of tolerance in the level .

The oil is very clean so it has not done many miles since whoever, previously, over-topped it up ..

Thank you Mick, that would've been my next question before I applied my oil level transfers! :)
