After reading an article in the recent VMCC journal regarding the rebuild of a CX500 (Why!!!!!!!) I decided to purchase the product he used for the casings, namely Rub n Buff. You rub it on with your finger, leave it a bit then buff it with a soft cloth. He used Pewter and I've bought Grecian Gold. I'm experimenting with an old carb bowl with the aim of making the carb on Project Kate look like a brass one. It's good stuff and doesn't scratch too easily.

The silver one is good at toning down rust blooms, rub down with superfine steel wool and solvo first and then rub and buff, its not perfect just not so obvious.
