There's no breather on the points side. Here's what the points side is supposed to look like:

That's another irregularity cleared up
No doubt I'm not the first person to have come across so many botched up jobs. It is so misleading when someone has to put it right.
I bought the manual in the beginning and that is limited in information.
The cylinder head is off an earlier model as it has the hole for the oil control to the inlet valve guide. All it says in the book/pdf is this was modified, unless I have missed something yet again.
Coming to the final stages of the engine build and the oil filter needs replacing but out of stock. Are there any mods for this or is it another internet search?
I'm beginning to sound like a Victor Meldrew in my old age
Any information is really appreciated despite the moaning.

If you're stuck, I have a used long filter you can have. It should clean up OK...

It's not on subject but is on the same bike.

All the work that's been done on my 1965 csr was botched so would like to put back to original.
I have done plenty of searching for pictures and diagrams in technical and search facility but cannot find sufficient information.
Could anyone put pictures or links to original positioning of battery, rectifier and coil so its how it should be please.
All that seems available are pictures of bikes with side panels fitted and nothing behind.
I will be converting to 12v at a later stage but for now it will be 6v system.
