1952 500 cc twin

Post by Joe Katz »

I've just joined because of a soft spot for Matchless machines; my first 'big' bike was 52G910407 back in 1955. I wonder where it is now. If it still alive - I suspect that it is still in the USA. I purchased it in '55, from a BMW dealer in Albany, New York and sold it to an airman when I lived in Niceville, Florida. I have been riding BMW since '59 but still have to stop and look at vintage Matchless and Aj's because of my fond memories of the bike.

Cheers, Don.

Pop over and whet his appetite Don, that's if he's within popping distance.

List:

I din't mean to stir up a tempest - I was just hoping that another US member might recognize the S/N of my old Matchie.

Hi, Joe. That number is not listed in the North American AJSMOC registry but not all members list their bikes.

We do list several 1952 G9's so many have survived.

Where are you located? I am in Southern California.

Cheers, Don.

Don:

You are a long way off --- I'm in Central Florida, DeLand, to be specific.

Hi Joe. I have lived in Jacksonville, Melbourne & Key West but long ago.

Send me a PM & I'll give you contact info on Pete the Cheap, a long time AMC enthusiast who lives not too far away from you.

Cheers, Don.
