1959 G12 cylinder head type
Can anyone tell me what year was the Matchless G12CS cynlinder head changed to the one with the three vertical fins? My 1959 G12CS motor has the version with these three fins. Did the factory change these heads in mid year, or toward the end of the 1959 production year? Thanks in advance for any info.

Have a look at the details of changes to twins in the article link below.
It would seem that the change to the fins occurred in the 1960 models which would have been produced from September 1st 1959 (i.e. after the factory annual August holiday shut down).
