Hi, The user manual appears to say that with the piston at 1/4 inch before top of firing stroke the contact points should be just about to open when the bob weights are held open to simulate maximum advance. This seems odd to me as I thought the function of the automatic advance bob weights was to provide advanced ignition when the engine was spinning fast. Any comments anybody ?
Cheers,
John.

Re: G5 Ignition Timing
you set the timing at fully advanced despite the engine being stationary. If not when you start the engine it will be over advanced. Same with any model with auto advance, well actually you set manual advance at full advance too.
