1929 M5 Oil return pipe

Post by Angelo »

Can anyone tell me the thread and size of the unions for the oil return pipe?

Also should the pipe be copper or something else? Where could I get new fittings from?

Sorry for all the questions

Thanks

Hi Angelo
The unions are BSP (British Standard Pipe) fittings and are still widely sold as gas fittings, 8mm copper pipe is a very close match for the imperial pipe originally used and is widely available. I'd recommend getting a pipe bender to achieve smooth curves - don't go crazy and spend a lot of money, I think Mine cost less than A$20.

Thanks Tim that's helpful - I have that size pipe and a bender so just the fittings needed now. 👍
