Hi
I have a fuel tank on my 350cc 1951 AJS that is very rusty, I don't think there are any pin holes in it, so was going to clean with vinegar and just use red lead paint (if I can find any) to coat the inside. What is the perceived wisdom for this please

Use something like Fertan Rust Converter. I've used this and it was easy and very effective.

Petrol will dissolve the paint.
