Sorry if this has been covered before, its a quite trivial question but I haven't found the answer yet. The underside of the cylinder head on my 1961 Model 8 is marked "25 RE 61". Just to satisfy my curiosity, does anybody know what this means?
Regards,
Bill.

Re: Cylinder Head Numbering
Quality control marking, now possibly week 25, RE being the controller initials and 61 being the year date. I may stand corrected on this of course.

Re: Cylinder Head Numbering
Is that reference number cast in the head (i.e. raised up) or engraved/stamped into the metal?

Re: Cylinder Head Numbering
Looks like it is stamped into the underside of the fins, under the exhaust port.
