Speedo bezel / glass sealing ring

Post by PGX11 »

Hello Chaps
Can anyone advise me where I can purchase the large thin rubber o-ring that fits into the rebate in the speedo bezel between the bezel and the glass, please? I purchased one from eBay and it was way too big in circumference and thickness.
The speedo is the 80mm chronometric as fitted to my 1952 18s
Any advice greatfully received. Thank you...

No the part referenced goes between speedo bezel and headlight shell. I have used neoprene cord in the past but I had to buy about 50 metres. Still have some left but I am out of the UK currently. I used to cut it to size and superglue the ends together. It is much ticker that the original which tended to compress over the years. Did the job though. Try cutting and gluing what you have. Be cReful putting the bezel back on its very easy to cross thread it.
