Tinware repair
I have scored a very reasonably priced autojumble tin primary chaincase. It has 2 faults: a small hole in the shock absorber cover end, and a 3/4 in drilled hole in the clutch cover. What is best way to repair? I can solder but not weld. I think I can bend back the bent metal and solder over the shock absorber damage. I could solder a patch inside the clutch cover, but the filler to bring it level with the surface would be thin and perhaps weak. I could solder a disc to the patch to minimise the amount of filler? See pics of chaincase.

Re: Tinware repair
Clean it back to bare metal, roughen the surface and use fibre glass matt and resin on the inside and body filler to finish off the outside.
