Hi has anyone used Halfords petrol proof clear laquer on their petrol tank over the top of water slide transfers. I have vinyl transfers for the gold lining and waterslide for the AJS logo. I don't want to find that the tranfers crinkle up when the laquer goes on. I have had bad experiences in the past with Halfords paints and laquers not being compatable with other paints or even with each other. My plan is to leave the tank after painting for at least two weeks before flatting it , applying the transfers, another two weeks to make certain everythng si dry anid then clearcoat wth petrol proof laquer to protect the paint. Cheers.

Avoid like the plague. Get a painter to put them on and clear coat for you.

Not tried it myself but Buzzweld do a 2k clear lacquer. I have used the paints and it is quite easy to work with, it is like a grenade, pull pin, shake and spray.

You will need a well-ventilated place and a mask etc.

Being a 2 pack paint it has a higher resistance to fuel etc. as it undergoes a chemical change rather than just a solvent flashing off.
