Oil on the floor, again!

Apologies for the very basic information but just in case it had not occured to you, try the following. Thoroughly clean, and I mean THOROUGHLY Clean; everything in the area and keep your beedy eye on it. A leak worthy of the name will soon reveal itself. Follow the drip/run to its source. It is not infallible but it works most of the time. If the leak only manifests itself when running, clean as stated, run for a VERY short time, and then take a thorough look. Those oil tanks on E-Bay are pre 56, Lasse needs the long slab tank, if his bike is truly '56

Well, here are a couple then:

Or are these too late?

Again, I have no connections with these sellers.

Number 1 has the wrong fixing for '56, Number 2 is far to late.

My bike isn't a '56, it's the pre '56 I need!

But none of those oil line connections there are on those pictures match mine!

In your very first post on this topic you described the bike as Model 18 56

If it is the older type tank you need, beware of those intended for rigids, the pipes come straight down on the swinging arm boss.Edited by - Biscuit on 13 Aug 2007 9:36:19 PM

My mistake, must have hit 6 instead of 3, sorry!

Edit:

Look, mine goes straight down, as Biscuit says they do on swingarm models.

Though these go straight down, the breather looks different.

And this one has none?

This one has another filter arrangement.Edited by - Lassenc on 13 Aug 2007 10:08:21 PM

Again, ANY suggestions to where the oil then can come from?

I have excluded gearbox, primary and breather assembly.Edited by - Lassenc on 13 Aug 2007 10:11:12 PM

Again. I've taken a picture of how my oil tank looks.

And oil is still coming out, which should mean gearbox, and a good few leaks from the engine to explain the blackness and loss in oil tank :)
